The United Kingdom Championship Tournament returns next month from the Royal Albert Hall in London, England. This will be a sequel to the highly successful original tourney from last year that saw Tyler Bate become the first ever UK Champion.
WWE COO Triple H recently sat down with Mirror Sports for an interview. There, the 14-Time World Champion revealed that we might finally get an update on the UK Division and the show attached to it.
The Game revealed that WWE will be making an announcement at next month’s United Kingdom Championship Tournament in London. He revealed that even though it has been delayed time and again, it will be meaningful to everyone when it actually arrives.
While we are there at this UK event at the Royal Albert Hall, we will be making some announcements about the future of the UK Championship brand there in the UK and moving forward. That brand still remains very near and dear to me and it’s something I want to move on. It’s taking a little bit longer than I anticipated in getting things done and getting them done in the way I want them to get done … but it’s happening.
It will be meaningful to everybody there and I look forward to showcasing the UK talent to the world.
We had reported some time back that the WWE is already looking for good locations to tape their matches at. There’s also a possibility that the WWE might end up setting up a British WWE Performance Center in the United Kingdom itself.
There is a belief that the UK Performance Center will be run by British pro-wrestling veterans so that the local talents are guided by some of their own.
