Yoel Romero responds to Luke Rockhold’s call for light heavyweight rematch

It looks like former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is still pissed about losing to Cuban MMA star Yoel Romero. Earlier this year at UFC 221 Luke Rockhold got knocked out by Romero. What makes it even hard for Rockhold is that Romero missed weight for the fight.

“Yoel’s a piece that can’t make weight,” Luke Rockhold said in a recent interview with TMZ. “I don’t even know how he exists in the rankings. He missed weight for 2 back-to-back title fights. The guy’s a cheap f*ck and I’ll find him at light heavyweight if he wants to do it again.”

It didn’t take long for Romero to respond on Instagram:

“Somebody remind [Luke Rockhold] the last time he look for me what happened,” Yoel Romero said in an Instagram post that also included a video of him knocking Rockhold out.

Luke Rockhold is scheduled to fight Yoel Romero at UFC 230 at the Madison Square Garden in New York against his old foe Chris Weidman. Rockhold earned a TKO win in their first encounter to capture the UFC middleweight title.

As for Romero, he remains sidelined with injuries and is expected to fight middleweight bruiser Paulo Costa upon his 2019 return.
