UFC officials have not made a formal announcement of this rematch yet. UFC 230 is scheduled to take place on November 3rd at Madison Square Garden in New York. Both Rockhold and Weidman are to #5 contenders in the middleweight division rankings.

Their last fight was the co-main event for the McGregor- Aldo card in UFC194 in which the then-undefeated champion Chris Weidman was stopped by the former Strikeforce Middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in round four to become the new middleweight champion.

Weidman, who defeated Kevin Gastelum before his home crowd in Long Island, New York has not fought in a year due to a hand injury after the fight. Rockhold lost his last fight inside the Octagon when he faced Yoel Romero in Perth, Australia.
