Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo states that Olympic Gold medalist Gable Steveson will be a huge threat to Jon Jones and Frcnias Ngannou at heavyweight.
The moment Gable Steveson won the Olympic Gold Medal in wrestling he became an overnight sensation in the world of combat sports. Since past weeks, the rumours regarding his signing are all been over the place. UFC and WWE are the two big organizations chasing him and trying all that they can do to get him into their part of the World.
UFC president Dana White said that he is interested in having Gable in the UFC and will be talking to him soon. But according to Gable, the UFC hasn’t approached him regarding anything.
“Meeting did not happen,” Steveson revealed on The MMA Hour. “I got to Vegas and I was on the go the whole day. I had no time to reach out or nothing. I don’t know. He’s got my number, he can reach out. He’s not coming at me like that. So like I said, I’ll wait my turn.”
“Dana, you have my phone number, you have my Instagram. I don’t run to people. I do my job. I wrestle, I win championships. I put on for the university. I put on for the USA. No need for me to run anywhere.”

Former UFC bantamweight can flyweight champion Henry Cejudo himself resides from the Olympic wrestling background and had made it to the top of the UFC. Cejudo feels that with proper training and coaching Gable could be a great addition to UFC. Cejudo also stated that with three years of high-level training, Gable could become a huge threat to Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Cejudo explained why he believes Steveson would be a real threat to the UFC heavyweight division.
“The UFC can’t afford him. I’m sorry, they can afford him but they’re not gonna pay him, unfortunately, man. I do believe in the next couple of years he could beat a guy like Jon Jones or even Francis Ngannou. He’s the biggest threat because of his wrestling base which is extremely scary,” Cejudo said.
