Alexander Volkanovski, the former UFC featherweight champion, has a unique opportunity on the horizon: a potential fourth fight against Max “Blessed” Holloway. Despite already holding three victories over Holloway, Volkanovski is now open to the idea of another showdown—especially since Holloway recently claimed the symbolic BMF (Baddest Motherf****r) title.
The Trilogy
Volkanovski and Holloway have a storied history. Their trilogy of fights has been intense, with each bout showcasing their skills and determination. Volkanovski secured dominant wins in their previous encounters, but the allure of a fourth fight has become more enticing.
- UFC 245 (December 2019): In their first meeting, Alexander Volkanovski defeated Holloway via unanimous decision, capturing the featherweight title. It was a closely contested battle, but Volkanovski’s technical prowess and game plan earned him the victory.
- UFC 251 (July 2020): The rematch took place on Fight Island. Again, Volkanovski emerged victorious, this time in a split decision. Holloway showcased his heart and resilience, but Volkanovski’s precision striking and takedowns secured the win.
- UFC 276 (July 2022): The third fight was the most decisive. Volkanovski dominated Holloway, showcasing his wrestling and ground control. The unanimous decision victory solidified his status as the featherweight kingpin.

Alexander Volkanovski’s Perspective
In a recent interview with Fox Sports Australia, Alexander Volkanovski expressed his thoughts on a potential fourth fight:
“Would I fight him (Holloway)? I mean, now that he’s got a BMF, we might have to do this, you know what I mean? I was always sitting there like, ‘How could you do it (a fourth fight)?’ But maybe there is that something there – you know, there’s a BMF now. For me, it’s 3-0, how can you get yourself out of bed for that? A BMF is something I haven’t touched before, so maybe we can do that, you know? So we’ll see what happens.”
Volkanovski acknowledges the significance of the BMF title—a belt that represents raw toughness and grit. Perhaps this newfound motivation will lead to a fourth epic clash between these featherweight warriors.
As of now, Volkanovski’s focus remains on reclaiming the title from Topuria. Meanwhile, Holloway positions himself for a potential title shot, either at featherweight or lightweight. The MMA world eagerly awaits the next chapter in the Volkanovski-Holloway saga.
