Reigning UFC Welterweight champion Leon Edwards says he has felt no intimidation from the callout made by Belal Muhammad and is ready to fight him up next.

The grudge from Belal came when Edwards and his coach first dismissed him as the next challenger to his 170-pound gold.
In his second title defense of his reign as the welterweight champion, “Rocky” clinched an easy unanimous decision win over Colby Covington in the main event of UFC 296 last weekend.
However, the MMA fandom did not expect Covington to be the contender for Edwards’ title. Instead, many expected it to be Belal, the 2nd ranked fighter in the division, who is coming off a win over Gilbert Burns at UFC 288 back in May.
In the aftermath of the win over “Chaos”, Edwards showed disinterest in facing Belal as his next title contender, and the Englishman’s coach Dave Lovell also added that they prefer to have Burns as the next fighter over Belal.

“Remember the Name” responded by lambasting him on social media, stating that its not only showing fear in the part of Edwards, but also added that the champion should be afraid.
“Leon’s opinion doesn’t matter.. his coach doesn’t matter ..the only person I care about is Dana and he gave me his word.. that’s all that matters … we’re next and the fact that they’re showing fear only gives me more confidence ..you should be afraid,” wrote Belal on X.

Belal’s words caught the attention of Edwards, and he made his response on X, claiming that he’s already informed the organization that he’s okay facing him in the Octagon because it would be an easy win for him.
“lol belal calm down son you’re the least intimidating person in the organisation. I already told UFC I don’t mind I’ll fight you next that’s easy work. You just have to figure out why they hate you so much 😂”
