After losing the UFC light heavyweight title, Alex Pereira is feeling upbeat and intends to give the new champion Magomed Ankalaev his best shot if they face each other again.
In the main event of UFC 313 on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, “Poatan” lost to Ankalaev via unanimous decision. Even though it wasn’t an exciting match, Pereira was unable to get out of first gear, and Ankalaev carried out a fantastic game plan.
In a video statement posted to Instagram after the defeat, Pereira thanked his followers and assured them that he will return to greater form for the rematch.

“I’m going to make certain changes for the rematch, and you can be sure that I’ll return much better. Never stop pursuing your goals. “Chama,” said Pereira.
Pereira went 3-0 in 2024 with knockout victories against Jamahal Hill, Jiri Prochazka, and Khalil Rountree, putting his title on the line for the fourth time in just 11 months.
UFC CEO Dana White stated during the UFC 313 post-fight news conference that Ankalaev and Pereira will “probably” meet again soon.
