Martial arts fans in India were ready to witness history on Friday, 28 May, as ONE Championship was scheduled to hold its first all-female event, ONE: EMPOWER.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 situation forced ONE to postpone the event until a later date.
While fans will have to wait for the landmark event, they will still be treated to an exciting card on the same date – ONE: FULL BLAST, which will air on tape delay.
Originally scheduled to premiere on 11 June, ONE: FULL BLAST features a cracking ONE Super Series headliner between #1-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender Saemapetch Fairtex and #3-ranked “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai.
The two were set to clash in the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament last year, but Saemapetch pulled out due to injury.
The winner of their matchup could potentially cross paths with fellow bantamweight striker Tawanchai PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym, who won his promotional debut at ONE: DANGAL earlier this month.
As well, if Kulabdam defeats Saemapetch, he could earn the right to challenge ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Giayanghadao.
Ushering in the main event of ONE: FULL BLAST is a flyweight clash between India’s Kantharaj Agasa and “The Hunter” Xie Wei.
Agasa will be making his much-anticipated debut in The Home Of Martial Arts, while Xie last competed against Chan Rothana in December 2020 at ONE: COLLISION COURSE, where he scored a third-round TKO.
