Valentina Shevchenko is still waiting for a confirmation from the UFC about her potential title fight with Flyweight champion Nico Montano.
Though it was initially reported that the fight will happen at UFC 228, there has been no updates about the same and in a recent interview, Shevchenko revealed that she is hoping that things would come together.
”Now she’s saying she’s ready for September 8th and I hope she will follow her words and when the UFC figures out what city UFC 228 will be in and sends us contracts, she will just sign and we’ll do our jobs. What we have to do, not only speaking or posting pictures or tweets saying ‘I’m ready for the date.’ Doing what we have to do: fight,” Shevchenko said. (via MMA Fighting)
UFC 228 does not have any major fights apart from the showdown between Yair Rodriguez and Zabit Magomedsharipov. The addition of Shevchenko vs. Montano will be a huge boost for the pay-per-view.
