UFC bantamweight star Sean O’Malley has been assigned with his next fight against no.15 ranked bantamweight fighter Raulian Paiva and the fight is targeted to take place at UFC 269 in December. According to the reports UFC is trying to finalize this fight and make it a done deal. UFC 269 is supposed to be headlined by the trilogy fight between current champion Brandon Moreno and former champion Deiveson Figueiredo. The pairing first met at UFC 256 on December 12, 2020, which ended in a majority draw. The rematch took place at UFC 262 where Moreno submitted Figueiredo at round three. Also, the two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes is going to defend her bantamweight title against Julianna Pena.  UFC 269 will take place on December 11, 2021, at a location that is yet to be decided.

Sean O'Malley vs. Raulian Paiva For UFC 269

“Sean O’Malley (@SugaSeanMMA) vs. Raulian Paiva (@raulianpaivamma) is in the works for UFC 269 on Dec. 11, per sources. Two bantamweight prospects. In their mid-20’s. Paiva coming off an upset win against Kyler Phillips, that surprised some people. Fun.”

Sean O’Malley was eagerly searching for a new opponent. He recently called out Dominick Cruz who refused to fight as he was then scheduled to fight Pedro Munhoz and they will be fighting at UFC 269 on the same card with O’Malley.

Sean O’Malley wants to get in the top 15 ranking

Sean O'Malley

Sean O’Malley has fought all his UFC fights in the PPV events. He made it in the UFC after a brilliant performance in Dana White’s contender series. He has become this new star for the company whose future is looking very bright. He came in the UFC as an undefeated prospect and ran straight through all his opponents.

The first time O’Malley faced some adversity was against Marlon Vera. O’Malley faced Marlon Vera in the co-main event of UFC 252 on August 15, 2020. In the fight, Sean hurt his foot and fell back on the mat due to the pain. He was then finished on the ground by Vera as he landed some serious ground and pound. He bounced back from that loss with two brilliant back-to-back performances against Thomas Almeida and Kris Moutinho.

 Raulian Paiva

Raulian Paiva made his UFC debut on February 10, 2019, at UFC 234 where he faced New Zealand fighter Kai Kara-France. He lost the fight on a split decision. He faced another loss after that but now is riding a three-fight win streak in the bantamweight division. In his last fight, Paiva faced Kyler Phillips at UFC on ESPN 27. He won the fight via majority decision despite 14 of 16 media members scoring the bout a draw.
